Glenda Thomas, B.S.
Senior Vice President, Operations
Mrs. Thomas began her chemical engineering career as a summer engineering student at Cameco Corporation's Key Lake Uranium Mine in Saskatchewan, Canada. At the Key Lake Mill she ran tests on the uranium ore from Cameco's McArthur River project which eventually led to the engineering modifications at the mill for processing the high grade McArthur River ore during commercial production.Mrs. Thomas worked as the Sodium Bicarbonate Plant Supervisor at FMC Corporation's Trona Mine located in Southwest Wyoming. FMC's mine consists of a large underground mine, an in-situ leach mine, and seven separate sodium based (Trona) processing plants. During her 10 years at FMC, the bicarbonate plant set monthly and annual production tonnage records, achieved four Superior ratings from the American Institute of Baking, successfully completed a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) audit, continued the plant ISO 9000 requirements, and maintained an accident and citation free plant. Mrs. Thomas also worked at FMC's Granger mine where she initiated the restart of the Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic) Plant while simultaneously shutting down the Granger Soda Ash plant. Mrs. Thomas was selected to the corporate FMC Ethics Board and appointed to the Committee for Successful Women in Wyoming during her time at FMC.
Glenda Thomas started as the General Manager of Operations for Uranerz Energy in 2007 and was appointed Vice President of Production on January 1, 2012. On November 19, 2012 Mrs. Thomas was appointed Senior Vice President, Operations. Mrs. Thomas was instrumental in the design and construction of the Nichols Ranch central processing plant, maintenance building, office and laboratory, and the site infrastructure.
Mrs. Thomas received her Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wyoming. Glenda volunteers for numerous community organizations.
